Boogie Van Christmas

Boogie Van Christmas

Twas The Night Before Christmas,
And out in the van,
I have the radio up,
As loud as I can.

My lady was jamming,
Over in her seat,
The base was bumping,
It didn't miss a beat.

The engine was humming,
It's powerful song,
We was set for cruising,
All night long.

When what to my
wondering eyes did appear,
But blue lights a flashing,
In my rearview mirror.

My lady's face went white,
Her blue eyes were sober
She knew I was packing
Were my papers all in order.

Had I been speeding,
We're my lights all lit,
We're my pipes to loud,
She was having a fit.

I said chill out my love,
It's that time of the year,
They have to do stops,
To make sure there's no beer.

Then a young officer,
 strolled up to my van,
I take a double look,
As fast as I can.

He was dressed all in blue,
From his head to his feet
With a bright shiny badge,
Pinned on so neat.

He had a white beard,
And a little round belly
That shook when he laughed,
Like a bowl full of jelly.

He said I know who you are,
And the good things you do,
But the bridge has washed out,
Just ahead of you.

So alter your route,
Go one road over.
Now proceed on my friend,
And please stay sober.

Then back to his car,
In the wink of an eye,
The blue lights went out,
As he was waving good bye.

But I heard him exclaim,
As his hand was fannin,
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL,
AND KEEP ON VANNIN.
